Realizzato a un anno dalla scomparsa di Benedetto Cairoli (1825-1889) il busto, di grandi dimensioni, porta la firma di Carlo Lorenzetti (1858-1945 ) che, benché resti fedele ai numerosi ritratti fotografici in circolazione, rende vividi i tratti del volto e mossi alcuni dettagli dell’abbigliamento, restituendo dunque un busto di una certa modernità.
The Benedetto Cairoli’s bust has been realized just a year after his death (1825-1889); it has great dimensions and it carries the sign by Carlo Lorenzetti (1858-1945). The Venetian sculptor, even if he kept faithful to the Cairoli’s photographic portraits, modeled the face in a vivid way as the details of the dress: the result is quite modern.
