Di nuovo Rauch (1777-1857) ma in questo caso per Gebhard Leberecht, principe di Blücher (1742-1819) comandante delle truppe prussiane contro Napoleone sia a Lipsia nel 1813 che a Waterloo nel 1815. L’eroe sembra fermato in un momento di riflessione durante la battaglia, meditabondo col piede appoggiato al cannone. La fine e serrata decorazione del basamento a mo’ di sarcofago rivela la profonda passione per l’antico dello scultore. Una piccola replica del monumento è conservata oggi presso la Alte Nationalgalerie.
Another Rauch but in this case it had dedicated to Gebhard Leberecht, Prince of Blücher (1742-1819), chief of the Prussian troops against Napoleon both in Lipsia in 1813 both in waterloo in 1815. The hero seems to be catch in a pause of the battle, while he’s thinking with the food leaned on the cannon. The beautiful and thick decoration of the basement, as a sarcophagi, reveals the profound love of the sculptor for the antique. A little bronze version of the monument is today conserved in the Alte Nationalgalerie.
